Dear Parents/Carers,
On behalf of the Parents’ and Citizens’ Association
(P&C), we would like to welcome you and your family to Townsville South
State School.
Townsville South is a great school with beautiful
grounds, wonderful teachers and fantastic kids. The P&C work towards
fostering an inclusive and supportive school community. Joining the P&C is
a great way to meet and build a network with other families.
Just like everyone…. we need a little help
sometimes. Don’t be afraid to let us know if you think you can help out.
To keep up-to-date on P&C activities you can:
• Attend P&C meetings; Dates vary but lookout for Notifications on
our Facebook page, through the QSchools app as well as the Newsletter
• Read the P&C section of the Newsletter.
• Contact the P&C members through the
School office or the email below.
Fundraising/Grants
The P&C support students and the school
community by identifying fundraising opportunities and preparing applications
for grant funding.
• If you would like to assist us in this area,
please contact the P&C via email or Message through our Facebook Messages.
Events
• Parents, caregivers and any interested
community members come together to assist with our events
• We plan to hold an event each term (disco,
movie night, Family Fun Night…)
Sustainability Projects
We are very fortunate to have a Sub-Committee
dedicated to Sustainability. If you would like to participate in upcoming
projects keep an eye on the Facebook Page. There is some exciting and huge
works planned here for 2020.
Other activities you could support include:
• Grounds, gardens and working bees
• Making craft items for our Mothers and
Fathers’ day stalls
• Painting murals, doing mosaics, etc for the
grounds
• Attending and helping set up our playgroup (Wednesdays
Mornings 0900-1100hrs in the Prep area during school terms)
• Promoting our wonderful school through
social media or word of mouth.
• Anything else you think of that you can
offer. We are open to all ideas big and small!
Your assistance with one or more of the P&C’s
activities listed above is always needed and appreciated. The P&C is about
sharing skills to benefit Townsville South State School. You don’t need to be
good at everything, just share what skills you have.
Volunteering is also a great way to meet new people
and research shows that people who volunteer live longer!
